To all Board of Governors and valued members of ELSA,
Now that the euphoria and revelry from ELSA’s 13th Asia-Pacific Congress has settled down, we may now reflect on the proceedings that occurred two weeks ago, and refocus ourselves to look forward to the events to come.
First, I would like to bid a warm congratulations to the local organizing committee of the 13th Asia-Pacific Congress in Cebu, headed by Congress President, Professor Crisostomo Arcilla, Jr. Kudos to all your hard work and dedication that made our humble dream from years ago into a reality. Not only did was it a successful event, but it also provided an avenue for discourse and learning that I am sure will lead to greater advancement in our field and in our organization.
I would also like to express my appreciation to the Board of Governors for the support that they have given ELSA 2017 and made the congress a success. This all would not have taken place without your support and generosity. Thank you all very much.
And with that, on behalf of the newly elected ELSA officers for 2018 and 2019, I would like to express our sincerest gratitude to the board and to the general membership for electing us into office. We would not be able to be here without all of your support, and for that I am very grateful. I believe that two things make life worth living: to love and to work. As your new officers, we have the privilege to work hard for something we love. We will surely be working hard to repay your trust, and work towards a better ELSA.
Finally, I would now like to take this opportunity to ask for your support for the upcoming 14th Asia-Pacific Congress in 2018, which will be held in Malaysia. With the support shown for this year’s congress, I have no doubt that ELSA 2018 will be just as successful, if not more. We now usher in a new era of ELSA. In order for this era to succeed, we all must work even harder, and push ourselves further to strive for success. I have no doubt that we have the capability to do so, and with your help, we can make ELSA rise to even greater heights. Onward to further growth and progress!
